Subject:
The Famous 5 wrote this petition asking the Governor-General of Canada to refer two constitutional questions to the Supreme Court of Canada. They asked if the Governor-General or the Parliament of Canada had the power to appoint a female to the Senate of Canada. The second question was asking if the Parliament of Canada could constitutionally appoint a female to the Senate of Canada.
