I have to inform you that your child has been excepted for evacuation overseas in connection with the above named scheme.
She is to travel on Tuesday 10th September 1940 to Liverpool in order to proceed to Canada and I am arranging for one of my school enquiry officers, Mr. Mcintosh, to call for her at 10:30 AM on that day.
I enclosed two labels for your child luggage and a tie-on label which should be fixed on the outer garment. If your child has been in recent contact with infection she should not be sent to the port of embarkation.
In order to avoid waste she should carry a sufficient supply of food and thirst quenching fruit to last for 12 hours. No bottles should be carried but it is very important that children should take a cartoon (1/2 pint) filled with milk or water. No chocolate should be included. Will you kindly arrange that anything that the child may require for two or three nights (for example, identity card, ration book, sleeping clothes, soap, towel, tooth-brush, tooth-paste) shall not be packed in a suitcase but shall be carried in a separate haversack or small attache case.
Whilst there is no reason why children should not take cameras or watches thay should not take gold or jewellery (Custom regulations) children should hand overall cameras to the chief escort on arriving at the hostel.
It will be appreciated that it is of the utmost importance in the interests of the children that the least possible publicity should be given to the port of embarkation and the commencing date of the voyage.
